Monday, September 24, 2018

•8:30 a.m.  Continental breakfast

•9:00 a.m.   Introductions

     •Background and goals for summit

     •Each group to introduce their mission/current activities

•9:30 a.m.  Identify main challenges to reducing the mental health burden (small breakout groups, then report back to larger group)

•10:30 a.m.  Break

•10:45 a.m.  Discuss what evidence-based practice means to each group (small breakout groups, then report back to larger group)

•11:45 a.m.  Identify points of agreement - is there language about the value of evidence-based practice that we can all feel good about?

•12:30 p.m.  Lunch

•1:30 p.m.  Discuss opportunities for collaboration for communicating about evidence-based practice & addressing the challenges identified during the morning session (e.g., stigma, lack of awareness about our effective services, etc.) (small breakout groups, then report back to larger group)

•2:30 p.m.  Discuss ideas that were raised and what we can accomplish more effectively if we collaborate

•3:15 p.m. Break

•3:30 p.m.  Brainstorm ways the ideas raised could be applied to current major issues (e.g., opioid crisis, gun violence, suicide, children separated from families)

•5:00 p.m.  Break

•7:00 p.m. Dinner

 

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

•8:30 a.m.  Continental breakfast

•9:00 a.m.  Discuss what groups are already doing tied to current major issues (e.g., opioid crisis, gun   violence, etc.) that were selected on Day 1

•9:45 a.m.  Separate into subgroups based on current major issues to consider concrete steps groups   could do collaboratively (e.g., joint statements to media; jointly authored briefs; talking points for speaking with reporters, etc.)

•10:30 a.m.  Break

•10:45 a.m.  Subgroups report back and larger group discusses ideas that were raised

•12:15 p.m.  Lunch

•1:15 p.m.  Discuss action steps to follow from Summit and which groups might want to take lead roles

•2:00 p.m.  Discuss how to sustain conversation

•2:30 p.m.  Adjourn


Please note: Although this site is hosted on the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology (SSCP) domain and although SSCP supports and is a part of CAAPS, CAAPS is an entity separate from SSCP.
